Could you be our new Area Manager?

We are recruiting an Area Manager for Swindon, Wiltshire, Dorset and Somerset covering the following key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Active Plus programmes across Swindon, Wiltshire, Dorset and Somerset
  • Line manage and support Active Plus delivery teams
  • Work with Head Office (Cornwall) to ensure an “as-one” approach to business development and coherence with Company policies and procedures, Business and Sustainable Development Plans
  • Work with a wide range of partner organisations
  • Develop new business potential and opportunities

You will lead, manage and develop Active Plus people, programmes and partnerships in accordance with the Company Business and Sustainable Development Plans. This includes current commitments in Somerset, although the aim is to employ an additional Area Manager covering Devon and Somerset as soon as this becomes viable. You will be part of the Active Plus Management Team and play a key role in ensuring that the business develops “as one”, working closely with the Head Office Team in Cornwall.

You will build and maintain links with local partners and organisations, including strategic partners, potential funders and investors, referral partners, delivery partners and progression/support partners. You will line manage a team of instructors, most of whom are wounded, injured or sick military veterans, working alongside a team of volunteers to deliver a high quality service. You will help us to break new ground by managing delivery funded by the European Social Fund, ensuring, quality, compliance and achievement of contracted outcomes.

You will be at your best when dealing with people, but also able to keep accurate records, analyse data and produce meaningful, evidence-based reports as well as qualitative information.  As part of the Active Plus Management Team, you will identify and share what works, support the overarching development of the business and uphold the good reputation of Active Plus. You will be flexible and keen to work within a dynamic and forward thinking organisation.

You will travel throughout the patch and will therefore need a current driving licence, insurance covering business use and a reliable car.
