Armed Forces Covenant Bronze Award for Active Plus

July 5, 2016
We are really delighted to be able to say that we have just been awarded the Armed Forces Covenant Bronze Award!
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.  The scheme was set up to enable the private (i.e. non-military) sector to promote being armed forces-friendly and show they are open to employing reservists, armed forces veterans (including the wounded, injured and sick), cadet instructors and military spouses/partners.
The criteria for the Armed Forces Covenant, in particular the words “a pledge that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives is a key value for Active Plus and every single one of our Team.   We firmly believe that the end of a military career may be an end of an era, but the skills learnt within the Service stay with an individual for the rest of their lives and are genuinely inspirational.  We are very proud as an employer to support our ex-Service personnel both practically and emotionally, enabling them to continue to live worthwhile and fulfilling lives.
