The Falmouth Active Plus Communities Group organised an indoor sports day on 19 October in partnership with the Dracaena Centre. The idea was to encourage more people aged 50+ to join the Active Plus Communities Group each week for sports, fun and friendship. It was a fabulous day, with visiting teams from the Active Plus Communities groups in St.Austell, Camborne and Helston keen to compete with their Falmouth colleagues.
In addition to sports, the group organised a raffle that raised £90 and hosted a number of visitors including Deputy Mayor Granville Chappel and Community Network Manager Mark James along with representatives from the Health Service, Age UK Cornwall, the Royal Voluntary Service and more. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service also attended, taking the opportunity to consult with older people about the redesign of their services.
