Work for us

Join our team and be part of a movement to build more confident and resilient communities.

Be part of a winning team

Staff turnover is a positive thing for us and we’re always on the look-out for new recruits.

So if you know any military veterans who need a chance, or a second chance, to get on track; or military veterans looking for a new challenge, then point them in our direction. Of course you may be one yourself so get in touch.

Whether you’ve been on civvy street for 10 days, 10 weeks or 10 years, we have opportunities for people to volunteer, to work full-time and everything in between.

And it’s not just veterans who make up our team at Active Plus. Our support staff come from all walks of life, so there are opportunities for anyone that has what it takes to help us do what we do.

We all need a helping hand in life sometimes, I feel a great sense of pride in being part of a team that is there to support our veterans and those within our wider communities.

Female Veteran Engagement Worker

This project will establish a dedicated Female Veteran Engagement Worker to improve identification, engagement and access to support for female Veterans across Cornwall. Female Veterans remain an under-identified and under-represented group within the Armed Forces Community and can face barriers to accessing appropriate support, increasing the risk of isolation and poorer health, wellbeing and social outcomes. The Engagement Worker will undertake proactive outreach across Cornwall, building trusted relationships with female Veterans through community settings, partner organisations and informal networks. Using a gender-informed, trauma-aware approach and drawing on lived experience as a female Veteran, they will provide advocacy, undertake needs assessments, and support women to navigate services with confidence. Working closely with Armed Forces Community Social Prescribing and Employment and Skills provision, the role will ensure female Veterans can access coordinated support that meets their individual health, wellbeing, social and employment needs.
