Building confidence, resilience and competence of Young People
Yep! Is aimed at disadvantaged Young People Aged 16 – 24 in Cornwall with a specific focus on 16-18 year-old NEETs, at risk of NEET, SEN and other vulnerable groups.
The integrated and collaborative programme aims to exploit the very best support locally available, to build within young people confidence, resilience, and competence as they determine their way in the world after secondary education.
This is a staged programme preceded by triaging, against specific agreed guidelines. It enables NEET young people to join the stage of the programme that best suits their need according to their judged distance from the labour market. The greater the need/distance the more intensive the support.
Yep! will support Young People who are:
- are NEET or at risk of NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training)
- have Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- have Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) status
- other disadvantaged groups such as Care leavers
- economically inactive / unemployed Young People.
Active Plus will deliver a series of confidence, motivation and resilience courses for Young People across Cornwall and IoS. The courses will be led by our experienced team of wounded, injured and sick military veterans as they support the Young People to overcome barriers, embrace change and develop self belief.
Working in partnership across the programme, the Young People can progress into sustained employment, education or training, achieve basic skills, experience increased social inclusion alongside developing a range of soft skills.
